About The Sweet Rebels VZW ✊
WHO WE ARE ✊🔥
The Sweet Rebels NGO is not charity. It is rebellion. We are a family who turned scars into strength, injustice into action, and silence into a global voice for women, animals, and every life that deserves dignity.
OUR STORY 🕯️➡️🔥
We are not a team built by resumes or diplomas. We are built by life itself. Sylvia, our founder, grew up in an environment of women’s suffering and survived child abuse. Instead of letting trauma break her, she transformed it into a fire for justice. She leads differently — never copying “the usual way”, always building her own. That is why this NGO is alive today.
Her brother Kristof shared the same backdrop of pain. He chose to stand strong, to become the practical force beside Sylvia. Where she dreams, he builds. Where she pushes forward, he clears the path. Together they turned their private scars into public rebellion.
Around them, family members and young people gathered — each with their own struggles, each with their own strength. Disabilities, speech challenges, learning differences — instead of being barriers, they became the heart of our inclusion. Because different abilities do not erase ambition. Together, we are proof: family can be rebellion, and rebellion can be family.
MISSION & VISION 🧭
Our Mission
To fight violence against women, to protect animals, and to make inclusion real. We create workplaces and projects where those with mental or learning disabilities thrive, where survivors of violence are not just heard but protected, and where animals are defended as fellow beings — not property.
Our Vision
A world where silence no longer shields violence. A world where compassion is not charity but power. A world where every person — disabled or not, survivor or ally — shares equal dignity, and where animals are treated as lives, not numbers.
OUR PROJECTS 🚀
The Peacock’s Circus 🎪
A colorful concept that funds our mission with treats, hospitality, and joy. It creates jobs, visibility, and solidarity — proving that celebration itself can be resistance.
Paws & People Network 🐾✋
Infinite Bond. Infinite Voices. A network for both people and animals. Women remain at our core. But men who step forward asking for help are welcomed. And no stray, no forgotten life, will ever be ignored.
MEET OUR TEAM 🫂
We are rebels — bound by blood, friendship, and fight. Different abilities, same dignity. Each story adds strength to the whole.
Sylvia — Founder & Coordinator (35)
Survivor of child abuse and raised in an environment of women’s pain. Sylvia turned her past into unstoppable energy. She refuses old models, creates her own path, and proves daily that rebellion can be both fierce and compassionate. She is the visionary heart of our NGO.
Kristof — Operational Right Hand (31)
Brother of Sylvia and partner of Celien. He grew up with the same shadows of injustice. Today, Kristof is the practical builder: operations, logistics, and daily strength. Calm, steady, and protective — the backbone beside Sylvia’s fire.
Celien — Rebel of Inclusion (25)
A young woman with a mental disability, but the same dreams as everyone else. Celien shows that inclusion is not theory — it’s life. She is positive, motivated, and proves that dignity is never negotiable.
Niels — Kitchen & Project Assistant (19)
Living with an intellectual disability, Niels thrives with structure and support. He is a dedicated worker and quick learner. He is also Zohra’s partner, and together they represent courage, love, and teamwork at its purest.
Zohra — Dual-Learning Student → Core Team (17)
Daughter of Sylvia. Despite dysphasia, she shines through hard work and resilience. Starting as a dual-learning student, she grew into a permanent team member. She is living proof that trust and support transform potential into reality.
Nikita — Social Media & Communications (21)
Sister of Sylvia. Despite dyscalculia, she masters the voice of our NGO online. She tells stories that matter, builds communities, and turns visibility into impact. Creativity, persistence, and authenticity are her strengths.
